Town of Walpole, NH BY ITS SELECTBOARD July 8, 2021 BID PACKET To view or download The Town of Walpole has contracted Avitar Associates of New England to verify all information on the assessment record cards. A portion of properties are selected annually for this process. This is an ongoing process that began last Fall/Winter and will continue throughout 2021 in the southern section of Walpole. A representative from Avitar (wearing a picture ID and driving a vehicle that is clearly marked "Municipal Assessor") will visit your property requesting information about your property. They will measure the exterior of your home and all structures located on the property. If you are not home at the time of their visit, they will measure the exterior of the home and any outbuildings and leave a door hanger notifying you of their visit. A notice will be mailed to you at a later date with information requesting you to call and schedule an appointment with Avitar for an interior inspection.
Although you should only see the assessor once in the five year data verification process, keep in mind if your property is under construction, or you have otherwise altered your property, you may see the assessor more frequently. Also, this data verification process is intended to correct physical data errors. This means your value should only change if there was an error or omission on your assessment record. If you have questions or concerns with the reval process, contact the Selectboard Office at 603-756-3672 for assistance. **NOTICE**
