Pursuant to RSA 33:8-a, I, the Selectboard of the Town of Walpole will hold a public bond hearing on February 13, 2020 at 4:00 PM at the Walpole Town Hall to discuss the proposed issuance of a bond in the amount of $1,856,100 for the purpose of financing fiber to the premises broadband network in conjunction with Consolidated Communications. The bond issue will be voted on at the March 14, 2020 annual Town Meeting.
The U.S. Census Bureau is holding a
Census Hiring Event at the Town Hall Friday, January 24, 2020 9 to 11 AM A Census worker will assist applicants with registering for a position with the U.S. Census Bureau. The position pays $20/hour with a $.58/mile reimbursement for travel. Is being held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM
in the Town Hall first floor meeting room. A second Broadband Public Meeting is schedule for February 12, 2020 at 6:30 PM in the Town Hall The Broadband Committee has been working since May to improve the level of broadband service in Walpole. Approximately 85% of Walpole is underserved according to the FCC 25/3 definition of broadband.
The Broadband Committee urges all Walpoleans to complete the survey so that the committee has a clear picture of how well individual households are served and how satisfied they are with internet and/or able access. To Fill the Position of “Caretaker” for the Walpole Cemeteries The Trustees of the Walpole Cemeteries will be accepting bids for landscaping services for the five cemeteries located in Walpole, NH for the calendar year of January 1st through December 31st, 2020. The bid period will be September 16th through September 30th, 2019. Any interested landscaping provider should contact the Manager of Administration in writing at the Selectboard Office by October 1, 2019.
